educator for close to fifty years. He taught science at Amherst Middle School for 39 years
and continued to substitute for over a decade after retiring, mostly at Heim Middle School.
Chuck instilled his love of nature and the outdoors in his children and grandchildren.
He enjoyed biking, hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, and playing tennis among
other activities. He was also an avid reader, often devouring books hundreds of pages
