Michael Kubiak (59) also known to family and friends as Mikey, Bubba, Foofa, and Kubi, died July 28th at Niagara Hospice House surrounded by family after a year and a half long battle with glioblastoma. Michael was born on April 20th, 1962, in Amarillo, TX and resided in Pendleton, NY.
Michael is the beloved husband of 34 years to Dora (DiFrancesco) Father to Jennifer (Jason) Moore, Amanda Lewis, Matthew (Jillian) Kubiak. Grandfather Kylie, Evan, Isabella, Tristan, Jayden, Elliott, and Ada. Son of Patricia and the late Ronald Kubiak, sister to Kellie (Brian) Mennes and loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Michael graduated from Sweet Home, Class of 1980. Mike was a submariner in the U.S. Navy serving on the USS George C. Marshall (Dec 86-Oct 89). After leaving the Navy Mike started his new career as a health physicist most recently working at MJW corporation for the last 20 years. Michael loved fishing, boating, and camping with friends and family while holding a good scotch and cigar.
All are welcome to pay their respects to Michael on Monday, August 2nd 3-7PM at the Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home, 8630 Transit Rd., East Amherst 14051. Family and friends can also attend burial at White Chapel Cemetery 3210 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst 14228 on Tuesday, August 3rd at 11 AM (meet at front gates). Followed by a celebration of Mike’s remarkable Life at Spring Lake Winery 7373 Rochester Rd, Lockport, NY 14094 1-4PM
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial contributions to Niagara Hospice House or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
