Born in West Virginia, she lived in Amherst since 1952.
A graduate of Denison University, she co-founded Specific Solutions, an agency specializing in life, disability, long-term-care, annuities and impaired risk.
A member of the Park Country Club since 1978, she was an active member of the Amherst Garden Club, an avid bridge player, and member of North Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Long is survived by her husband, Robert E.; two daughters, Virginia Persons and Karen Burton; a son, Thomas; two sisters, Molly Spencer and Susan Lerch; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert.
Funeral Services were private.
