Peter Wells Mye broke our hearts when he passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Kathleen Mye (Jarmusz) , dear daughters Emily Murphy ( Andrew), Julia and proud grandfather of Brynn Murphy. Brothers John Mye (Candise) and Charles Mye(Barbara), nephews Charles (Kate), Andrew(Amanda),Christian Mye, Thomas, Matthew, Nicholas, Brendan Jarmusz and nieces Sarah Mye (Ben Fein,) Courtney (Joseph) Jukic, Jessica (Robert) Gramc, Kimberly Harris, Hilary Jarmusz, Margaret, Martha and Jacqueline Wydysh, Sally Jarmusz, and Mary Frances Jarmusz. Predeceased by his parents Homer J. and Florence Irene Mye. Peter grew up in North Tonawanda. He went on to become a graduate of Colgate University where he received a B.A. Degree in Economics. He then continued his education to achieve an M.S. Accounting degree from New York University – Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He began his career at the Peat Marwick Mitchell office in New York City, working in accounting. He then entered the Investment Management business after moving back to Buffalo, where he joined Kidder Peabody. Peter later moved to Rochester, where he opened the 89th office of Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc in 1994. He joined Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) where he became a Senior Vice President /Investment Management Consultant and Branch Manager of the downtown Rochester office. He was a longstanding member of the Saturn Club in Buffalo, New York. He sponsored numerous charity events in both Rochester and Buffalo. Peter loved his time spent on Canandaigua Lake. Entertaining and cooking were his passions. Peter’s infectious love of life resulted in friendships that endured throughout his lifetime. He became a best friend to so many and will be sorely missed. Viewing hours will be held at Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home 8630 Transit Road, East Amherst, NY 14051 on Sunday, November 17th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. His life will be celebrated on Monday, November 18th at 10:00AM, at North Presbyterian Church, located at 168 Payne Avenue, North Tonawanda, NY.
