This is Sindu one of Patty Madam’s (as she was affectionately called then in 1972 ),when we were her students at Osmania  University.
I am writing now as I just saw it on google.I lost touch with her soon after she left India and got married in Buffalo.
I am not sure if anyone will see my note as it is more than a year later.
She was not only an excellent teacher but became a very good friend to us inviting us to her house,to movies and picnics.
May her soul  Rest In Peace 

We are saddened by the passing of Raj and send our deepest sympathies to our cousins, families and friends. We were fortunate to have spent many happy times with Raj and cousin Mike over their years of marriage and to appreciate their generous spirit and good humour. These memories are with us forever. Thank you for sharing the coverage of the service.  Rest in Peace Raj.  Mike and Raj are reunited.

Raj was fortunate to land in the Hudecki Family...where there is so much love and caring..she enhanced greatly our family dynamics by her presence and grace...

Cousins, Judy and Harryp

My mother ( Patty’s first cousin) was a great story teller. So I had heard lots of stories  about Patty and the rest of the family even before I met them. 
On one of her early trips to India visiting with her friend Rosalind, I remember this happy, cheerful, energetic, fun loving aunt. 
On her next visit, she came with her beloved Mike. In the middle of all her socialising with a big ‘khandan’ ( extended family) She was the doting wife!
Patty had this “get on with it”
attitude. ‘Don’t fuss’. At the same time she was the most caring thoughtful person I’ve met.  She was a loving, forgiving and generous person.
Love her ! And will miss  her! Happy that she is in a better place.  

I first met Raj at the airport with my brother Mike. Here is a photo way back when. They began their journey and she had brought sunshine into his life as well as he into hers. May they both be reunited running freely in heaven without any struggles like in life. 

I am the most privileged goddaughter in the whole world.  Aunt Patty, turned my pumpkin into my a magical carriage with a magical ride, the 12 o'clock hour had not struct and the fairy tale had not ended, till she took her last breath. But what a loss. I celebrate her life as I grieve her loss.
Nish and Vas have enjoyed their spunky aunt all their lives.

You and Michael have enriched our lives in countless ways.  Thank you for your steadfast friendship.  It has meant so much to each of us who have been blessed to be a part of your life.  You are the glue that held our ECC family together.

Patty had a wry sense of humour. An incident she related to me sticks in my memory. 
Patty had just completed her studies in the US. Armed with all these fancy degrees made a trip back home , she got a rousing welcome and of course with that the only too familiar questions , like good old Indians she got asked what’s the use of all these degrees when she’s not yet married  !!! 
Patty & Mike were a warm loving couple & welcomed our family to their home. 
They introduced us to the Buffalo bills, Buffalo wings our first taste of chorizo sausages on the barbecue which had to be had with iced tea & bourbon !!!
The apple blossom tree in their backyard which my children helped plant  is a testimony of their love for nature . A tree that still flourishes.

Sometime after she graduated from Osmania University in Hyderabad my dad saw a notification in The Times of India, Bombay requesting applications for a  Fulbright scholarship from India.
He got quite excited and told her to apply, but she was reluctant thinking wouldn't qualify. He virtually forced her to apply.
That's how Sebastian became Hudecki.
Two wonderful, courageous human beings who never complained. 

She was always Patty to us never Aunty.

She was my anatomy and physiology instructor at ECC, she was a funny, gracious woman.   So very sorry for your families loss.

Here is a funny incident that many of you may not know. Patty returned after completing her studies in the States and rejoined Osmania University as a lecturer. One saturday morning, when I was at B4F4 (Vidhya Nagar house); there were several people gathered in the front room when the postman shouted Telegram. I being the youngest ran to collect it. Those days a 2 line message used to be pasted inside a folded envelope. As telegrams came announcing birth or death etc, it was not considered a secrete to read. So, I proceeded to read it out loud for all to hear. It read "How would you like to be Mrs. Hudd... (I was struggling to pronounce the name)" thats when Patty came rushing and took the telegram saying that is for me! By now the cat was already out of the bag. It was after this incident that the actual planning to get married to Mike started.

We all remember how well Patty took care of Olive aunty till the end and after her passing, Patty continued the tradition of remembering everyone and sending beautiful cards for Birthdays and festive occasions.

My children Sheena and Anil also have fond memories of meeting Mike and Patty whenever they visited India and gifted them with many things. My son-in-law was also very fortunate to have met Mike and Patty at their home in Buffalo.

Our family will forever miss you Patty and cherish your memories.

My earliest memory of my cousin Rajmohini  Patricia or Patty as she was known, was being gifted with story books for my birthday and Christmas every year, and reading became a passion ever since.  I used to tag along with my aunt Chelli who stayed in King Koti road to St George's Church where I would meet Patty, and quite often to Himayatnagar and later Vidyanagar where Patty and her loving parents lived. How can one forget the famous ' Christmas Brunch' they hosted for  family, extended family, friends and anybody who walked in! 
Patty had many endearing and unique qualities, of which her generosity and empathy stood out.  One uncanny ability was her encyclopaedic memory for birthdays, and anyone who knew her was sure to get card, no matter which part of the country or world they lived. If there was one person who had  a great influence in my life, it certainly would be Patty.
Even though we kept in touch after she moved to the US,  it has been about 33 years since I last saw her.  Fortunately my daughter visited her and Mike a few years back in the US and came back with wonderful memories.
My family and I will certainly miss Patty and Mike.  They touched many lives.  We thank God for the joyous and  unforgettable times we had with them.

I met Patty in 1963 when, as a Peace Corps Volunteer, I taught Zoology in Women's  College in Hyderabad.  For two delightful years I enjoyed the hospitality of Patty's family and friends, and exciting travels around  India with her.   

I was so pleased when she married Mike, a charmer himself.  For many years we were able to visit each other, but, when that was no longer possible, always kept in touch.

I will always cherish my many memories of my friend, a charming, caring, friend whom I feel so fortunate to have had the privilege of knowing for many years.

Rest in peace, my dear friend.

A memory from 1960 that rings in my mind

Raj gave up her seat at Christian Medical College Vellore to be with her father who had suffered a stroke.
Her mother now became the only bread winner and Raj joined the Women’s College in Hyderabad to study zoology.
This was the time that I became friends with Raj for although we attended different schools and different colleges I was very drawn to her and saw her often though Iwas studying Chemistry

One day talking about architecture Raj asked me “Have you heard of Frank Lloyd Wright ?”
“Yes”, I said
Raj laughed her lovely silvery laugh and replied “of course you have !”
Delighted that we had so much in common.

Patty, Mike,  Olive Aunty and Jaya Uncle were a close knit, loving family, deeply rooted in the Christian faith. Our families were close friends and my childhood memories are filled with times spent  together Whenever we traveled out of Hyderabad by train, their house was along the route and they would stand out at the fence and wave to us as we went by! As a child I would visit them to use the record player - I had a little record with the story of the Little Match Girl. I would cry listening to the story and Patty would console me! We last visited Patty in her home in Buffalo and had a good laugh recalling old times! May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
