Robert D. Leonard MD

October 13, 2016, age 92, endeared husband of Aurea (nee Stempin, Drzewiecki) and the late Lucile Hickman Leonard; devoted father of

Marion (Alan) Giambattista, Shirley (Ronald) Coleman, Ellen (Dan) Dirksen and Robert (Patricia) Leonard; grandfather of seven; great-grandfather of three; dear son of the late Marion (nee Slater) and Dr. Harold Leonard; brother of the late Edward, Bill and Judson. Dr. Leonard is survived by many friends at Canterbury Woods, a Senior Retirement Life Care Community. Dr. Leonard was educated at Oberlin College in Ohio. His education was interrupted for 2½ years by World War II, during which time he served in the Army Infantry in Germany. After the war, he returned to

Oberlin to complete his education. Then, he attended Medical School at Western Reserve in Cleveland. He did his post-graduate work at E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital. His specialty was Internal Medicine, which he practiced for 30 years in Hamburg, NY. Family will be present Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home, 8630 Transit Road. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 3 pm at Canterbury Woods, 705 Renaissance Drive, Williamsville, NY. Flowers gratefully declined.
