Dorothy Wheeler-Keenan

Age 88, died September 2, 2011 at her home in East Aurora. Dorothy was born on August 18, 1923 in South Buffalo, NY where she attended St. Thomas Aquinas Grade School, South Park High School and Summers Business School. She was the beloved wife of Peter J. Keenan and the late Maynard L. Wheeler and Edwin J. Welti; dearest mother of the late Thomas Welti (Donna); sister of Margaret DeGrood and Donald DeGrood; also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren

and many dear friends. Dottie was not only a wonderful homemaker, she was also very involved in her community as past president of the Woman’s Club at East Aurora Country Club as well as chair of many events. In addition she was co-founder of the New York State Thimble Association. Dorothy was always ready to help family and friends in need. She will be missed by

all who loved her. Visitation will be at the WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 784 Main Street, East Aurora on Sunday, September

4 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 520 Oakwood Avenue, East Aurora on Tuesday, September 6 at 11:00 AM. Interment immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
