Lynn F. Nowak passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 68. A longtime resident of East Aurora, she was the beloved wife of 44 years to Martin J. Nowak, DDS, and the devoted mother of Katherine (Tyler) Buccieri, Elizabeth (Guy) Katz, and Richard (Taylor) Nowak. She was a cherished grandmother to Juliet, Blake, May, Lilah, Jack, Thomas, Liam, Zev, Ann, Davis, and Avia.
Lynn is also survived by her brother Thomas (Renee) Francis, and was predeceased by her siblings Joan (Frank) Hall and William Francis. She was deeply loved by Marty’s sisters—Kathleen, Suzanne, and Tricia—as well as her dear friend Betsy, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Lynn spent over two decades as an elementary school teacher, finishing her career as a first grade teacher at Wales Primary School, where she was known for her steady presence, dedication, and care for her students. She was also a long-standing member of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church and a trusted friend to many.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—chocolate ice cream, key lime pie, walks with friends, and time spent with her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Monday, June 23rd at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 345 Main Street, East Aurora, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or, in Lynn’s honor, take a walk, share a dessert, or spend time with your loved ones—just as she would have wanted.
Lynn will be remembered with love and admiration by her family, friends, church, students, and the countless individuals whose lives she touched with her grace, generosity, and devotion.
