Clement C. Martel

Clement C. Martel, 96, of East Hartford, passed away on March 27, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Clement was the beloved husband of the late Lillian Martel. He was born on February 14, 1921 in Ayer, MA, a son the late Israel and Filomena (Burns) Martel.

Clement proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He loved watching and playing baseball with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews, he especially loved the NY Yankees.. He LOVED his 4-legged canine companion Lenny. Clement also enjoyed going dancing every weekend.

Clement is survived by his daughter Cathy Hoffman of East Hartford, grandchildren: Maurice Hoffman of GA., Jennifer Reinertson of MN,. great grandchildren: Matthew and Andrew Reinertson, Bella Roman and Lincoln Hoffman, sister Theresa Julian and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents & his beloved wife Lillian, Clement is predeceased by his brother Leo Martel, sisters: Leona Racine, Mary Bean, Rita Mongeon, Irene Andlews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 8:30-10am, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave.., East Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Rd., East Hartford.
