Dorothy "Dottie" L. Muller

Dorothy L. (Lyon) Muller, 94, peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Born on February 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Hazel Loucille (Harris) Lyon. After graduating high school, Dottie entered into the Real Estate Industry holding various job titles within the field. Dottie and her late husband, of 55 years, George Muller settled down and raised three daughters together. Dottie was a resident of Glastonbury, CT, Charlestown, RI, and Stuart, FL. In her free time, Dottie stayed very active. She was an avid golfer and Ten-Pin bowler for over 50 years. She was the President of the CT Women’s Bowling Association for many years. When she moved back to Connecticut, she was a daily attendee at the Glastonbury Senior Center. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, solving puzzles, and playing cards. Above all, Dottie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who loved to spend time with her family.

Dottie leaves behind her three daughters; Paula L. Powell of South Carolina, Dawn Muller and her husband Robert Jenkins III of Glastonbury, and Gayle Cunningham and her husband Mark of Glastonbury. Seven adored grandchildren; George, Justin, Allison, Kyle, Matthew, Sarah, and Rebecca. Six cherished great-grandchildren; And one special great-great-grandchild. Along with her husband, Dottie is predeceased by her son-in-law Homer Powell, grandson Wesley, and two sisters; Barbara Cone and Claudia Frain.

Funeral service to celebrate Dottie’s life will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dottie’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
