

Eva A. Carew, 94, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late John T. Carew, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Woodlake at Tolland after a long illness. She was born in Enfield to the late Peter and Anna Tamulis.
She was a longtime resident of East Hartford. After she raised her family, Mrs. Carew was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Motor vehicles, retiring in 1969. She was a parishioner of St. Isaac Jogues Church. Her passion was cooking. She cherished the time spent with family at Sunday dinners and barbeques.
She will be dearly missed by her son, John F. Carew and his wife Joan of Naples, FL; her daughters, Aileen C. Demeusy and her husband Jerry of Harwich, MA, Susan C. Gusy and her husband Jim of Vernon, CT; her six grandchildren, John, Marci, Michael, Colette, Sarah and Justin and their spouses and her nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Alice, Anna, Frances, Dorothy and William.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at 10 AM, at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1 Community St, East Hartford, CT 06108. Burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
The family would like to thank Eva’s live-in companion Lodzia Rybak for her excellent service and friendship and to all the staff at Woodlake at Tolland for their compassion and care.
