

Gregory S. Barton, 43, of South Glastonbury, died November 4th at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Tarrytown, NY, August 7, 1966 the son of Paul and Karen (Smith) Barton and was a 1984 graduate of Ridgefield High School in Ridgefield, CT. Gregory was employed at Headworks Salon and Day Spa in Glastonbury for the last 12 years. He fought a life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis, which had claimed the life of his sister, Cheryl, in 1981. He received a double lung transplant in July of 2006. While continuing to battle the ravages of his disease, with his new lease on life, he was able to travel to Italy, cruise in the Caribbean and in the Central America area and spend time at his special getaway at Hillside in Pennsylvania. Besides his parents of Baldwinsville, NY, he is survived by his partner of 16 years, Frank Stevens, of South Glastonbury, his grandmother, Mrs. May Barton of Syracuse, NY, his uncles and aunts, Wayne and Mary Barton of Syracuse and Gordon and Kathleen Scofield of Louisville, KY, several cousins and his lifelong friend, Sharon Ives of Pleasant Valley, NY. All are invited to gather for a Celebration of Greg's Life on Sunday November 8th from 1-3 p.m. at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT.
