

Jeanne Aubrey Wlochowski, born February 28, 1941 in Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on the morning of November 17, 2013 surrounded by her family. She left this world having lived a full and meaningful life.
Jeanne grew up in East Hartford and lived there for most of her life. She had many talents, most of them being self taught. She was a gifted weaver and her sewing was second to none, even making her own wedding gown. She attended elementary school at St. Mary's in East Hartford and graduated East Hartford High School in 1959. She stayed home with her three children until she decided to pursue a career in nursing. She received her nursing certificate in 1978 and shortly after began her spectacular career. She was gifted at caring for and helping people. She particularly enjoyed working in the Neonatal Care Unit at Hartford Hospital providing loving and attentive care and an unyielding advocacy for the special and unique needs of her patients. Jeanne was recognized for her excellence when she was awarded "Nurse of the Year" from Hartford Hospital where she worked until her retirement.
Jeanne was a trooper in accompanying her family on their many great adventures. She took joy in her home, all the holidays especially Christmas, family gatherings and the laughter and love that was always present. She always let her children and grandchildren know how much she loved and admired them.
Jeanne’s love will live on in the lives of all those she touched, especially her dedicated and loving children and spouses Garth and Beth(DeMars)Wlochowski of East Hartford, Heather Wlochowski and Joe Martin of Windsor and Blair and Andrea (Melanson) Wlochowski of Bloomfield; her extraordinary grandchildren Jessica Wlochowski, Hannah Martin, Brendan, Declan and Aidan Wlochowski; her very best, beautiful and humble sister and husband, Barbara Aubrey Martin and Jerry Martin; her favorite nephew and niece Ian Martin and Thea Bourke-Martin and her husband Brian Bourke; her inquisitive great nephew Joshua Bourke-Martin; and her former husband and father of her children Peter Wlochowski. She will also be missed by numerous friends and acquaintances.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
