Jeffrey R. Peters

Jeffrey R. Peters, 50, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday July 17, 2012. He was born in Hartford a son of Ralph Sr. and Priscilla (Walkers) Peters of East Hartford. Jeff was a mechanic and together with his wife Nicole, owned and operated an automotive repair shop in Hartford. He could do anything, fix anything and troubleshoot anything. He had a big heart and knew what was wrong and how to fix it. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding. In addition to his parents he is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Nicole (Knickerbocker) Peters, his loving son Zachary H. Peters, two sisters Jean Grant and her husband James of East Hampton, and Nancy Grisevich and her husband Robert of East Hartford, two brothers Ralph Peters Jr. and his wife Fernanda of Coventry and Michael Peters and his fiancée Colleen Harrington of Mansfield, his mother and father in law Howard and Valerie (Widziewicz) Knickerbocker, of Middlefield, MA, his brother in law Brian Knickerbocker of Tolland, his godparents Raymond and Rachel Doucette and several nieces and nephew. He was predeceased by his sister Lisa Peters. The family would like to acknowledge his lifelong friendship with Chuck Schultz of East Hartford and Richard Rose of Manchester. Funeral services will be Monday July 23rd at 11AM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, both in East Hartford. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday July 22nd from 3-6PM and Monday from 10-11AM.
