Joan L. Redshaw Griffin

Joan Lorraine Griffin, 79, beloved wife of the late John J. Griffin Sr. of 53 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2013. She was born January, 22, 1934 in Hartford to the late Clarence and Nancy (Bonnet) Redshaw.

Joan was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with family.

Joan will be dearly missed by her 4 children, John Griffin Jr. and his wife Laura of Monticello, GA, Patricia Laramee and her husband Wes of Coventry CT, Dennis Griffin and his wife Wendy of Tolland CT and Kevin Griffin and his wife Elaine of Amston CT; her brother Clarence Redshaw; her sister Nancy Dowd; her 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia & Ida.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013, from 4-8pm, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT, 06108. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
