John C. MacGregor, Jr.

John C. MacGregor Jr., age 88, of Ellington, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. John was the beloved husband of Jacqueline “Lynn” (Spender) MacGregor for 64 years. John was born on October 1, 1924, a son of the late John C. MacGregor Sr. and Edna (Mitchell). He was a proud veteran and pilot in the United States Army Air Corps, and Captain in the Air National Guard. He was a volunteer firefighter in Wyckoff, NJ., and was the plant manager for Goldberg’s.

In addition to his loving wife Lynn, John will be dearly missed by his children; Sandy Zuffelato and her husband Scott of Ellington, CT., John C. MacGregor III and his wife Maureen of Jasper, GA., Donna Lajterman of Bergenfield, NJ., and Bonnie Leet and her husband David of Lake Spofford, NH. John will also be missed by his 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who he cherished and adored.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, March 7th from 10-11AM at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT, with a Prayer Service to follow at 11AM with Military Honors at the funeral home.
