Lucien Lavigne, 89, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 13, 2018 after a long illness. He was the husband of Aline (LaFlamme Belanger) since 1983. Lucien was born November 3, 1928 in Johnville Quebec, Canada to his late parents Phillip and Aldea (LaPolice) Lavigne. Lucien was employed by Coca Cola, Maple Hill Farms and Monaco Ford. He was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. Lucien enjoyed spending time with his family, hockey, fishing, camping and sitting in the sun.
In addition to his beloved wife Aline, he is survived by and will be dearly missed by his sister Rita, his daughter Francine Lavigne-Teague and her husband Bill, his son Norman Lavigne and his wife Kim, his step-daughters; Gail Brown, Denise Griffith and her husband Kurt, Christine Brazolovich and her husband Hal, his grandchildren; Eric and his wife Alexa, Melissa, Joshua, Kyle, Brenden, Zachary and Brendan, his great grandchildren; Deziree, Zachary, Colby, Chloe, Karlee, his special nieces and nephews, along with Sassy, his kitty.
Lucien is predeceased by his brother George, sister Fleurette, and his first wife, Helen (Ruel). Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, 4-7pm, at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108. Services begin at the funeral home on Thursday, January 18th at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Rd., East Hartford.
