Mary Ellen Peace

Went home to be with the Lord on February 16th 2013. Born in Mount Vernon, NY the beloved daughter of Charles David Hall, Sr. and Rosa Henrietta Franklin Hall. She attended Nathan Hale Elementary, Washington Junior High and Mount Vernon High School graduating in The Class of 1970. She later graduated from Westchester Business Institute with High Honors in 1980. She has worked at Sirco International, Plimpton Hills and for the past 32 years at Mount Sinai and Saint Francis Hospitals serving as a Unit Secretary and Heart Monitor Tech and when needed as a Trainer.

Mary has served God and the community through ministries and volunteer services such as blood drives and community activism with groups such as the Eastern Stars, and ONE/CHANE. She grew up in Unity Baptist Tabernacle of Mount Vernon, NY, affectionately known as The God is Love Church, and has been a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist of Hartford, CT and Sword of the Spirit Christian Church of East Hartford, CT.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Thomas Peace, Sr., two sons and a daughter, by age order, Charles Garfield Phillips, Love Ann Peace and Daniel Thomas Peace, II, and a brother Charles David Hall, Jr. Also she leaves behind, 5 grandchildren, Chloe, Kenya, Tyriq, Truth, and Jada; and a host of loving family and and friends. A special thank you to the folks of Mount Sinai Hospital, The Saint Francis Hospital and Unit 35! Praise God! Momma Peace, you will be sorely missed!

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, February 20th from 5-8PM at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 21st, 2013 with a calling hour from 10-11AM, followed by a Homegoing Celebration at 11AM both to take place in All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 444 Hills Street, East Hartford.
