

Pauline Roberta Blaschke, 94 longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away on July 26, 2010. Pauline was born April 17, 1916 in Summitville, Ohio daughter of the late Henry H. Benson & Iva (Fitzpatrick) Benson. Pauline graduated and received her RN Certificate from the Connecticut State Hospital Training School for Nursing in Middletown, CT in 1939. Pauline married Carl Richard Blaschke in 1940 and was happily married until his passing in1987. She then remarried the late John Paul Parciak in 1995 until his passing in 2001. She was a longtime communicant and devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. Pauline worked for many years as a psychiatric nurse at the Institute of Living and also as a Registered Nurse at several local Convalescent Homes. Pauline loved to spend time at beaches and in the water, along with being very active in the East Hartford Senior Water Aerobics. She was also a member of the Red Hats and loved square dancing. Pauline will always be remembered as a devoted and very loving person who always reached out in every way she could to her family, friends and people in need of support.
She is survived by her two loving sons Robert K. Blaschke and his wife Georgeta of Trumbull and Kenneth A. Blaschke and his wife Mary Beth of Wethersfield: a daughter in law Louise Blaschke of San Juan Capistrano, CA: sister in law Mary Benson of Kensington, Ohio: eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Stacey A. Blaschke of San Juan Capistrano, CA: Kenneth A. Blaschke his wife Emily and their children Clementine and Merritt all of Yarmouth, ME: Kirk R. Blaschke of Venice, CA: David R. Blaschke his wife Jennifer and their daughter Tuesday of Oakland, CA: Rachael L. Fitzpatrick her husband Arty and their son Shane all of Rockaway Park, NY: Erica L. Blaschke of East Hartford: Alicia Naleway and her husband David of Wethersfield: and Megan Metzger and her husband Matt of Windsor. She also leaves behind the following nieces and nephew: Linda Sue Beadnell of Hanoverton, Ohio: Richard Pfirman and his wife Martha of Bangor, ME: Mari Pfirman of Avon: Sukey Strand and her husband Tim of Whitefish, Montana.
Along with both parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her son Richard Carl Blaschke, a brother Paul Benson, a sister Rosemary Bernet and a grandson Michael Blaschke.
Calling hours will held on Sunday Aug. 1st from 4-7 p.m. at the Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. A Mass of Christian Liturgy will take place on Monday Aug. 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, 673 Ellington Rd., South Windsor, CT 06074. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Pauline’s memory to either St. Francis of Assisi Church or to The House of Bread, 27 Chestnut St., Hartford, CT 06120.
