

Robert W. Flint, a lifelong resident of Glastonbury lost his battle with cancer and passed away on Saturday November 20, 2010. Bob was born in Hartford, October 4, 1939 son of the late William E. Flint and Frances M. Villa. Bob’s tremendous love and support for the town will be sorely missed. He was extremely active in the community as a 14 year member of the Rotary Club and an almost 50 year member of Columbia Lodge No. 25 AF&AM of South Glastonbury where he received the John Nott award for service. In addition to his community service Bob worked for Travelers Insurance Co. in Hartford for over thirty years. In his later years Bob comforted many residents in their time of need working part time at Glastonbury Funeral Home. It is without a doubt that Bob will be remembered for his care and giving to others and the good will that he shared with all those that had the joy of knowing him.
Bob leaves his wife of 46 years Pam (Funk) Flint, daughter Patty Coombs and husband Michael of Glastonbury, son Jim Flint and wife K.C. of Mission Viejo California. He leaves grandchildren Michaela and Daniela Flint, Olivia Coombs, Michael and Kierstin Flint. In addition he is survived by his sister Lillian Flint and partner Nancy North, sisters-in-law Laurrie Sostman and husband Jim, Gail Gordon and husband Russ as well as several nephews and a niece.
Calling hours will be Friday November 26th at Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tpk from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be performed during the evening calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 27th at 11:30 a.m. at the Congregational Church in So. Glastonbury located at Main and High Street.
