Adriana Valadez Espinosa Sánchez passed peacefully as the sun was setting on May 9, 2023. Adriana was born May 22, 1957 in Mexico City, México and grew up in Leon, Guanajuato, México. She was the daughter of Blanca Espinosa Hernández and Nicolás Valadez Villalpando.
She married Jose Honorio Sánchez on July 20, 1979, with whom she created a great life and legacy. She is survived by her husband Jose; her children, Jose Honorio Sanchez Jr, Nicolas Valadez Sanchez, and Adrian Armando Sanchez; 1 special granddaughter, Mariana Blanca Sanchez; her siblings, Blanca Adela, José María, Adela, Georgina, Rosalba, Ma. Guadalupe and Martín Gerardo along with a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her siblings Nicolás, Leticia, and Juan Mauricio.
Adriana and Jose settled in Lansing, Michigan, when she was 23 when they officially migrated to the US in search of a better life and better opportunities for their family. Adriana and Jose moved their three sons to Haslett, MI in 1996.
The most selfless person one could ever meet, Adriana always had others best interests in mind. She made sure anyone who visited her home was fed. Her kind heart gave rise to a 20 plus year calling as a caregiver working in numerous assisted living homes for seniors in Haslett. Her experience and passion to care for others, eventually led to attaining her own license and converting her personal family home into an adult foster care. She and family offered a warm familial environment where she cared for seniors in their final years of life.
A true renaissance woman, Adriana was as talented and as creative as she was generous and caring. She was a highly skilled seamstress for many years creating quinceanera dresses, traditional Mexican folkloric dresses, ornate baptismal baby gowns, and even her children’s clothes. Her cooking was always sought after as her traditional home-made Mexican dishes could cure a cold or a troubled spirit.
Adriana was a spiritual person devoted to the Catholic Church. She was fiercely devoted to her family and preserved traditional Mexican cultural values and traditions inherited by her growing family. Her legacy will live on.
Adriana is greatly missed.
