Bernadine E. DeFrain, 79, of Largo, Florida, formerly of East Lansing, our loving mother, grandmother and friend, died on May 3, 2017. Bernadine was born in Detroit on April 16, 1938, the daughter of Walter and Stella (Otremba) Druchniak. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, was fiercely proud of her children and grandchildren and was always dedicated to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years, Leo DeFrain. She is survived by her children, Donna (Kevin) Egnatuk, Julie (Phillip) Lewis, John (Lesa) DeFrain, Paul (Vicky) DeFrain, Michael (Stephanie) Defrain, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday May 15th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing at 11a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Memorial contributions in memory of Bernadine may be given to Hospice of Lansing 3186 Pine Tree Rd, Lansing, MI 48911.
