Bette June Holden

Bette June Holden, 73, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015. She was born June 28, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Owen and Beatrice (Molzahn) Blunt. She married Robert Holden of Holden-Reid Clothiers on May 4, 1963. Bette was an avid and highly skilled knitter who also loved to crochet and sew. She was a dedicated volunteer for Sparrow Hospital, serving on the Women’s Board of Managers in many different roles. Bette loved golfing, boating, fishing, MSU hockey games, spending time in Florida and at Torch Lake, traveling, and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Holden, her daughter, Anne Schneeberger, her parents, Owen and Bea Blunt, and brother, Thomas Blunt. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Kathleen Roberts of Howell; her daughters, Sherri (Tim) Hines of Mason, Deborah (Michael) Petersmark of East Lansing, Laurie (Greg Cassidy) Holden of Heusenstamm, Germany; her son-in-law, Trent Schneeberger of Chandler, AZ; her grandchildren, Corinne and Colin VanWyke, Mitchell and Spencer Hines, Andrew, Megan and Owen Petersmark, Kenedy, Adison, Hayden and Kain Schneeberger, and Conor and Keegan Holden; her brother-in-law, Wayne (Patricia) Holden; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00am at The Chapel at Hawk Hollow, 4501 Hawk Hollow Dr. West, Bath, MI. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, PO Box 30480, Lansing, Michigan 48909.
