Carol Ann DeKoninck

Carol passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 5, 2018. She was preceded by her husband, Donald; her sisters, Susan and Janet; and her brothers, Philip and Paul. She is survived by her sons, Allan (Susan), Brian (Charlene), and Carl (Tamara); grandchildren, Timothy, Sarah, Matthew, Jonathan, Anna, Benjamin, Abigail, Jennifer, Tiffany, David, William, Daniellea, Carl, and Stephen; great-grandchildren, Seth, Leah, Sophia, Jacob, and Oliver.

She was born August 31, 1937, to Carl and Lillian Kuehnel in Detroit, Michigan. She was married to Donald DeKoninck on May 23rd, 1957, until his death in 2000. Carol and Don eventually settled in the Lansing area where they raised their family. She worked as a cashier at a grocery store in Lansing and later as a cook at a daycare in Okemos.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Michael Murray at St. Martha Catholic Church at 11:00am on Thursday, October 11th.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Lansing Chapel from 5-8pm on Wednesday, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm.
