I am the nephew of Mindy and Dean. During my time in the Marine Corps, I was stationed at Selfridge Air National Guard base in Mount Clemens,MI From late 1973 to August 1975. During that time I spent almost every weekend with my aunt and Uncle and cousins. They welcomed Me into their home, And I felt like I was home.

My condolences to the family and friends of Dean. He was a wonderful presences at MSU who kept his family and friends close at hand and heart.

Dean was a creative, stimulating, and supportive colleague at MSU who significantly advanced the science and delivery of Integrated Pest Management across the globe. He also kept family and friends utmost in his priorities. He will be greatly missed, but may his inspirational example live on.

I was very much saddened to hear of Dean's death.  I first met him when he was the Gerald Thomas Chair here at New Mexico State University and he and I worked on a number of projects together.  Dean was always upbeat and full of ideas on how to improve our research.  In these he was almost always right.  He was a great friend and colleague and we will miss him deeply.  My deepest sympathy to his family, especially Mindy, who is also a great friend.

To a great man that shared alot at the Peacock Road Tree Farm with all the employees there. It will be different not seeing you walking the dogs around but will be always remembered.  You will be greatly missed by the Smith-Sipka Family.

Dean Haynes, was a great friend and Professor for many of us that had the honor to be his students.  Although he is physically gone he lives in the memory of those that are beneficiaries of his knowledge and contributions to the world of science.  Good bye dear friend!
