Elizabeth "Liz" DeCess

Elizabeth “Liz” DeCess was born in St. Johns, MI on October 21, 1926 to Philip and Jessie Karber. She passed away April 15, 2015 at the age of 88. Liz was employed by General Motors and later worked in the gift shop in the old Lansing General Hospital and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

She was predeceased by her husband Shirley LeRoy DeCess; sister, Patricia Bennett and brother, Jim Karber. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Keith) DeCess-Marchek and sons; Robert (Marvel), Michael and Steve; grandchildren, Benjamin (Becca), Tiffany (Mike), Brandi, Robert Odell (Marsha), Courtney, Kylee, Cierra, Connor and Sidney; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 20th at 10am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, MI with the Rev. Dan Westerman officiating. The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home and one hour prior at the church on Monday. The rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI. The Rite of Committal will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
