Irvin Stewart SirLouis. 90, passed away on September 22, 2022. Born in Bedford, Ohio, raised in Bath, Ohio by parents Victoria and George Irvin SirLouis. He graduated from Bath High School, attended Akron University, and enlisted in the Navy and became a Naval Aviator accepting a commission in the USMCR as a Helicopter pilot. He retired from the USMCR after almost 24 years with the rank of Lt. Colonel and friendships that have lasted his lifetime.
Stew was a pilot, a business owner, sales rep, and a videographer during his career. He loved life and lived it with joy, enthusiasm, curiosity, and abounding energy. He had a beautiful smile, was always prepared (or faked it), and anything anyone ever needed was stashed in his trunk. Always ready for a new adventure, he loved things that went fast (like him); planes, boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles. He also loved Chili Dogs, steaks on the grill, good Bourbon, car shows, drives, travel, planning the next trip, maps, his laminator and hi liters.
Loyal Michigan state fan, he was a 3 sport season ticket holder for most of his years. He especially treasured the friendships made while acting as Videographer for the Hockey team.
He has "flown West" to join the aviators before him and leaves behind his loving family. Wife, Shirley, Daughter, Cindy (Peter) Buerling, Grandson, Benjamin, Granddaughter, Elizabeth, Brother, David C. (Kathi) Sirlouis, Sister, Victoria (David) Groetzinger and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna (David) Sechrist.
There will be a family memorial service later this year in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to an organization that is special to your heart and raise a toast to a life well lived.
