Age 86, died on December 12, 2011. Ivy was born April 2, 1925 in Dryden, Ontario, Canada. At age 9, she moved with her family to Vancouver, B.C. She earned a B.A. in English and French at the University of British Columbia in 1945, where she met her future husband, T. Harvey Edwards. They were married June 13, 1946 in Vancouver. In 1948 they moved to Ann Arbor, MI so Harvey could attend the University of Michigan where he received his PhD. in Physics. Then they moved to East Lansing where Harvey was a Physics professor for 32 years at Michigan State University, retiring in 1986.
Ivy is survived by four loving sons and their families: Tom, O.D. (Cathryn) of LaCrosse, WI; Bruce, J.D. (Cindy) of Haslett, MI; Roger (Debra-deceased) of Tahlequah, OK; and Ken (Karen) of Greenfield, IN; 6 granddaughters (Ashley, Alexandra, Stephanie, Christie, Jennifer, Hannah), one grandson (James), and one great-grandson (Tyler). She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Harvey, and her parents, her sister Shirley and brothers Mickey and Lester. Ivy was a member of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church for 46 years. She was active at one time in the E.C.W., of which she served as Treasurer for 18 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting antiques and reading biographies. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 30200 Telegraph Rd, Ste 105, Bingham Farms, MI 48025 or to St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church. A Memorial service will be held at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, 4650 N. Meridian Road, Williamston at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16, with the Rev. Ronald Byrd, Sr., officiating. There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting Light!
