

Jeff was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan - Dearborn, earning his Bachelor of Science degree. He dedicated his career to the State of Michigan for 35 years as a health physicist in the Radiation Safety Department. There, he was committed to protecting the well-being of others and ensuring public health and safety.
Outside of work, Jeff led a full and active life. He found joy in biking, golfing, and skiing, and treasured daily walks with his loyal dog, Jackson. His love for sports ran deep—he was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and the University of Michigan Wolverines.
He built a life rooted in love and community in the greater Lansing area, where he and his family created many cherished memories. Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife: Kathleen Tavormina; children: Justin Tavormina and Jacob Tavormina; father: Gerlando Tavormina; siblings: Sue (Mike) Rawson, Jerry (Carol) Tavormina and Rick (Julie) Tavormina; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother: Joann Tavormina.
A memorial service for Jeff will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. East Lansing, MI 48823.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jeff may be made to Red Cross, Potter Park Zoo or the Ingham County Animal Shelter.
