Leona Clairine Good, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020. She was born July 30, 1928 in Strathcona, Minnesota to John C. and Sigri (Johnson) Nelson. Leona met her future husband, Norman Good, while she was studying and he was on the staff at the University of Minnesota. From there, she and Norman would live in England, Canada, Minnesota and finally settling in Mason, Michigan to raise their family. Leona was a voracious reader - there was nothing she wouldn't read if she could get her hands on it and she was especially passionate about history. She also loved gardening and was active at Fenner Nature Center, serving on the board and as a past president. She instilled her love of nature in every one of her children, and she was skilled in sewing, quilting, and needlework.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her children, John (Mih-seh) Good, Jennifer Good, David (Leanna) Good, Karen (Brian) Caires, Kathleen (Richard) Martinez, and Doug Good; her grandchildren, Andrew Good, David Caires, and Richard Martinez; and her siblings, Vern (Karen) Nelson, Lenay (Jerry) VanHorn, Adell (the late Walter) Miller, and Jeanne (Pat) Collins.
No services will be held at this time.
