Lois Elaine Chaffin

Lois Elaine Chaffin, age 86, passed away December 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Alethan Chaffin; step-son, David Chaffin; nine siblings, and grandson Chris Nichoson. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters; Jean Studemeyer (Andy), Joy Williams (Bill), Janet Wheeler (Gary); Linda Porter, and daughter-in-law Debbie Chaffin; son, Jerry Chaffin; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Eileen Braman. Lois enjoyed music and crocheting. She loved travelling and camping. She and her husband enjoyed hunting for and collecting agate rocks at Lake Superior. They also made jewelry with them. Lois was a member of the Red Hatter Group and was known as the “Angel Penny” Lady. Mom was a very spiritual person, and very much a people person. She loved her family very much and everyone called her Grandma “C”. Visitation will be held Friday, January 1, 2016 from 4 – 8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11 am at the funeral home.
