Marjorie J. Romig

Marjorie JoAnn Romig (Thornton), age 82, of Lansing, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. She was a devoted and loving mother of 10 children, sister, wife, daughter, and grandmother, but most of all daughter of the King. Her faith in God was always primary in her life as well as caring for her large family. Her passion in life was sharing her faith with anyone and everyone around her. She was a fabulous cook and well known for her baked beans and cinnamon rolls. Before dementia set in, Marjorie was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoyed baking for her family, reading her Bible, attending church, and listening to Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond, as well as worship music, and praying.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Romig; children, Shelly Taylor, Pam Rambis, Todd (Debbie) Gubry, Denise (Brian) Weitzel, Teresa (Paul) LaMacchia, Michael (Lisa) Gubry, Melanie (Tim) Dornbos, Amie (Bing) Hake, Maria (Tracy) Anderson, and Jennifer (Kerry) Roy; step-children, Greg (Shelly) Romig, Kathy (David) Cooper, Janet (Jerry) Hale, Brenda Romig, Jeff (Autumn) Romig, Karen Romig; her siblings, Crystal Hyde, Vivian Laux, Katie Thornton, Rita Thornton, as well as many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Winifred Hitchcock and her brother, Dallas Thornton.

Funeral services for Marjorie will be held on Friday, April 16, at 11:00am at Trinity Church in Lansing. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 15, from 5:00-8:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home on Grand River Avenue in East Lansing, Michigan. An informal graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 17, at 11:00am at Greendale Township Cemetery in Shepherd, MI.
