

Marvel married the love of her life, Bob DeCess, on July 11, 1996, and together they shared 29 wonderful years of companionship, joy, and shared memories.
Marvel served with distinction as an executive secretary for the Michigan State Police for 31 years. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment made her a respected and valued member of the department.
A woman of many passions, Marvel was known for her active lifestyle and love of sports. She enjoyed running, golf, and was a devoted Detroit Tigers fan. Marvel also had a special place in her heart for the Bath American Legion, where she made lasting friendships and enjoyed countless laughs. Her local hangout, the Mayfair Bar in Haslett, was one of her favorite places to relax and be among good company.
Outside of work and social life, Marvel had a green thumb and took great pride in her garden. She was an avid crafter, spending countless hours knitting and crocheting beautiful creations for those she loved.
Marvel DeCess is survived by her beloved husband Robert James DeCess; children: Jenifer (Douglas) Gallandt and Mark Stetson; stepchildren: Benjamin J. (Becca) DeCess and Tiffany L. DeCess-Jones; granddaughter Mariah Stetson; step granddaughters: Megan DeCess, Mallory DeCess, Alia P. Jones and Alayanna L. Jones; and nieces: Kelly Stetson and Carla Stetson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Lamont Beard and Sherwood Beard.
