She was born on January 6, 1927, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Mearl and Agnes Forbush. MaryLee married Bertrand Lou Miller on February 6, 1946, in Muskegon, Michigan.
MaryLee attended Grand Rapids Union High School and went on to work at Robinson's Grocery Store and Haslett Shop Rite (Goff's). She was an active member of the Red Hat Society Merry Garnets Chapter and regularly attended Lake Lansing Baptist Church.
Throughout her life, MaryLee resided in Grand Rapids and Haslett, where she cultivated a rich tapestry of experiences and relationships. She had a passion for outdoor activities like camping and fishing, as well as artistic pursuits such as figure skating, ballroom and tap dancing, and playing music. MaryLee had a knack for creating memorable moments and cherished traditions, including crafting scrapbooks for each of her 14 grandchildren.
Family was at the center of MaryLee's world, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her loved ones. She is survived by her children: Alana (Darrell) Cunningham, Mark (Deborah) Miller, Paul (Pam) Miller, Teresa (Kevin) Smith, Bryan (Laurie) Miller, and Alan (Nancy) Miller. MaryLee's legacy also lives on through her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Surviving grandchildren include Darren Cunningham and Ryan Kleiver, Ryan (Heather) Cunningham, Mac (Melissa) Miller, Brad (Michelle) Miller, Jason (Jackie) Miller, Ashley (Jared) Twiss, Phil Smith and Natalie Sway-Tin, Michelle Smith and Ericka Grover, Eric (Dilyn) Smith, Jennifer (Brad) VanSickler, Julie Miller, Katelyn (Gavan) Lienhart, Jensen (Marie) Miller, Branden Miller, and Austin DeGroot; and great-grandchildren: Dylan Cunningham, MacKenzie Cunningham, Madison Cunningham, Paxtyn Miller, Zeb Miller, Mira Miller, Yvette Miller, Paul Miller, Laura Twiss, Charlie Twiss, Rosalee Twiss, Desmond Twiss, Amara Twiss, Xzaviar Grover, Summer Grover, Nolan VanSickler, Blakely VanSickler, Joseph (Cena) VanSickler, Audrey VanSickler, Evie Miller, and Genevieve Miller. MaryLee was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Bertrand Lou Miller, and her daughter, Roxie Ann.
Her kindness, love, and devotion will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation for MaryLee will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, 1730 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Following the service, MaryLee will be laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery, 2500 Mt Hope Rd., Okemos, MI 48864.
