Mildred Elinor Marquardt

Mildred “Millie” Elinor (Arledge) Marquardt died January 8, at the age of 88 after a brief illness. She was born on March 9, 1927 in Marion, Ohio to Kelson and Marie (Boden) Arledge and spent her childhood years in Circleville, Ohio. After moving to Michigan to attend Owosso Bible College, she met and wed Gerald (Jerry) Lee Marquardt on November 22, 1945. Millie and Jerry moved to the Lansing area in 1967 where Jerry was a teacher/administrator for the Lansing School District. Millie was a devoted homemaker and spent many hours volunteering for various activities, especially those involving the church. All who knew her loved her dearly. Her smile and kind heart will be sadly missed. Millie was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother Willard Arledge. She leaves her son Dana Lee (Nancy) Marquardt, her daughter Donna Marie (Marquardt) Hoover and two grandchildren, Ryan Manly Marquardt, and Amy Lynn Marquardt. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 5-7p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. East Lansing, MI Funeral Service will be Thursday, at 11:00a.m. at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Rd, Lansing, MI with visitation one hour prior to service.

Interment is Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Rd.
