After graduating from Albion College, she taught first and second grades in Royal Oak, MI for four years before leaving that work to raise her two daughters. In later years she cooked for the Council on Aging in Lansing, worked at Cranbrook Hospice Care in Birmingham, and worked at Blue Water Hospice in Port Huron, MI. During her thirty years in Port Huron, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and was active in the quilting group. Most recently, she was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in East Lansing.
She is survived by Tom, her husband of 64 years; two daughters, Barbara (Paul) Legris of Nashville, TN and Cynthia Hunter Morgan of East Lansing; grandson Tommy (Brittany) Morgan; great-grandson Rushton Morgan; brother-in-law Stan Hunter; sisters-in-law Judy Hedlund, Mary Hunter, and Sue Lott; sister Barbara Schriedel; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George Lott.
She loved her family, sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, and chocolate. She was a faithful correspondent with family and friends and, in later years when she could not quilt and bake, she painted and made cards, which she shared widely and generously.
