Norman Lee MacGillivray

Of Haslett, passed away at his home on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 93. He is survived by his five daughters, Lynda Foster (Ted), Melody King (Will), Deborah Miller (Mark), Virginia Lefere (Alidor “Doochie”), and Gail Schaibly (Jim); 10 grandchildren, Lee King, Andrew Foster, Theodore Foster, Mark (Mac) Miller, Brad Miller, Alidor Lefere IV, Kevin Lefere, Kristin Brady, Curtis Schaibly and Jacob Schaibly; and 19 great-grandchildren. Lee Mac was preceded in death by his partner since the 5th grade and wife of 71 years, Virginia Lee MacGillivray (nee Mars), sister Pauline Cooper, brothers Ken (Ruth), Ray (Jacqueline), and Jack (Marge); and son-in-law Eric (Will) King.

Lee operated Lee MacGillivray Chevrolet in Haslett for over 25 years, and was a strong supporter of the community. Many a Haslett teen either rode in one of his donated cars in the Homecoming parade, or ended up around his pool after the dance. Lee and Virginia sponsored the local Corvette Club, and were active for many years in Haslett Community Church.

A visitation for Lee will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at 10:30AM followed by a memorial service at 11:30AM at the Haslett Community Church,1427 Haslett Rd, Haslett, MI 48840. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Lee’s memory to the wonderful people at CorsoCare Hospice or Haslett Community Church.
