Her strong will to live, faith in God and prayers of family and friends carried her through more than a year of treatments.
Penny was born May 21, 1959 to Paul and Patricia Broughton (deceased). She was the second of three children: Paul Broughton, Jr. (deceased) and Patrick Broughton (surviving). In 1978 she married Joe Pennoni and had three children: Brandy Pennoni, Joseph Pennoni Jr., and Pamela Pennoni (all surviving). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Brooke Westbrook Buffington, Chrissie Pennoni, Caitlyn Pennoni, Bayley Pennoni, Sierra Johnson and Chloe Pennoni and two great-grandchildren: Dillon Buffington and Logan Buffington.
Visitation at Gorsline Runciman East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River, East Lansing, Saturday from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m.
