Randall Darling, age 38, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by the love of friends and family. Born on December 1, 1986, in Jackson, Michigan, Randall was the beloved son of Mona Marie Darling and Lloyd A. Darling. His passing was the result of complications from a perforated ulcer.
Randall’s life was marked by deep devotion to his family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for helping others. He is survived by his cherished sons, R J (Randall Lloyd Darling, Jr.) and Max David Darling; his sister Brandy Jo Horney and her husband Ed Horney; his grandparents Catherine Jacobs and Robert Miller; his father Lloyd A. Darling; his uncle Nick Jacobs; and his aunts Sharon Metts (Dale Metts) and Pam Dewey (Doug Dewey). He also leaves behind several cousins and many beloved friends who were like family to him, including Mike and Francine Erksine, Shaun and Danielle Prince, Jordon and Ali Bryde, Chris Abbott, and Pete and Shelly Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mona Marie Darling.
A graduate of Mason High School, Randall went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business. He built a successful career at JX Peterbilt of Grand Rapids as a proud member of their sales team specializing in large semi tractor units. Known for his mentorship at work, Randall took great pride in guiding colleagues through both professional challenges and personal growth.
Beyond his career achievements, Randall found joy in giving back to others. He spent several years coaching little league football through the Hudsonville School system—a role that allowed him to share not only athletic skills but also life lessons with young athletes. His generosity extended into the community through organizing charity car shows that combined two of his greatest passions: helping others and showcasing show cars.
Randall was an avid car enthusiast who owned two meticulously maintained show cars. He frequently participated in car shows where he earned recognition for both vehicle condition and sound systems. His love for automobiles was matched only by his compassion for animals—especially pit bulls. Over the years he rescued three pit bulls who became treasured companions.
His faith played an important role in his life. Through participation in Bible studies with friends, Randall accepted God and Jesus Christ as his savior—a source of strength that guided him throughout life’s journey.
