Richard R. Moore devoted his life to family, learning, travel, computers and photography. Born February 2, 1941, he died on August 20, 2011 after fighting a courageous battle against cancer and other health challenges.
An elective course in computers at University of Michigan in 1962 sparked Richard’s interest and determined his future career path. Following graduation, he started employment at the Michigan State University Computer Center (now Academic Technical Services) and held various administrative positions during the next 43 years. He was also active on the board of the Administrative Professional Supervisors Association.
Richard treasured trips throughout all US states and Canadian provinces, plus many visits to Australia and several other countries. His love of travel was captured and preserved though beautiful photographs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lucile Moore. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth (Pemberton); daughters Lisa Moore and Sara (Scott) Mease; grandson, Charlie; brother, Jim Moore; sisters, Beverly (Tom) Briscoe and Ginger Briles; 11 nieces and nephews and MSU colleagues and friends.
