It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven (Woody) James Allen, who left this world on December 6, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on October 18, 1957, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Steven was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Steven was the cherished son of James and Annette Allen, who instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and community. He grew up in a close-knit family with his siblings: John Allen of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Anna Sullivan of Beltsville, MD, and Carl Allen of Fall River, WI.
Steven graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and dedicated himself to a successful career that spanned over 40 years at Hatco Corporation in Sturgeon Bay. His commitment to his work was matched only by his loyalty to his community. A proud member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Steven embodied the spirit of giving and service. He was deeply involved in local sports organizations and events, passionately supporting youth athletics. For over three decades, he helped run a charity softball tournament that raised funds for various local causes, demonstrating his belief in the importance of giving back to the community that shaped him.
Above all, Steven was a devoted father to his son, Bryan Allen, of Okemos, MI, and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Madison Allen and Jack Allen of Williamston, MI. His grandchildren especially were his pride and joy, and Steven would often be heard talking about them to everyone he knew.
Steven's hobbies and interests included a passion for softball and golf, activities that kept him active and connected with friends. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, and his generosity knew no bounds.
Steven is survived by his son, Bryan Allen; his grandchildren, Madison Allen and Jack Allen; his mother, Annette Allen; his siblings, John Allen, Anna Sullivan, and Carl Allen; and many friends, nephews, and nieces who will forever cherish his memory. Steven is preceded in death by his father, James Allen.
Steven’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Meridian in Haslett, MI, for their compassionate care during his final years. Their dedication ensured that Steven's last two years were as comfortable and dignified as possible.
In his honor, the family asks that contributions be made to the Sturgeon Bay Youth Athletic Club.
A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at a later date in Wisconsin. Please continue to check back for updates.
