He was born February 13, 1945 in Burlington, IA to Lee and Fern (Clampitt) Morgan. He married Debra Riley on September 4, 1993 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his two children, Joseph (Vicki) Morgan of Morton and Lisa (JR) Cassidy of East Peoria; three step-children, Angelique Borneman of South Carolina, Stacy (Trent) Bailey also of South Carolina, and Melissa Wilson of Springfield; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Karen Anderson of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Troy Morgan, a brother, William Morgan and a Step-Brother, Sam Pendola.
Charlie served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient. After leaving service Charlie worked as a Truck Driver for many years and was a past member of the Teamsters Union in Peoria. He attended the East Peoria Mennonite Church and the Grand Lake Community Church when staying in Florida. Charlie enjoyed playing golf, going out to dinner with friends, teasing with grandkids, and watching T.V, but will be remembered for his great sense of Humor.
A funeral service will be on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
