Emma Smith

She was born on October 23, 1948 in Peoria, to Henry William and Emma (Marquardt) Colvin. She married Robert E. Smith on July 20, 1969 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 2014. Her parents and one sister, Mary Bush preceded her in death.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her two children, Robert E. Smith Jr. of Morton and Lena (Matthew) McClure of East Peoria. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Dakota Robert Smith and Zachary Montgomery Smith both of Pekin; Savannah Jo (Brady) Andrews of Washington and Sierra Jane McClure of East Peoria; six siblings, Jennie Beeney of Peoria; June (Tom) Marth of Delavan; Henry Colvin of Whitwell, TN; Charles Colvin of Florida; Cathy Hall of Morton, and Cindy Kennedy of TX.

Emma worked at the Greater Peoria Regional Airport in the restaurant and last as the Housekeeping Supervisor before retiring. She was a former member of the Hanna City Sportsman Club and she enjoyed fishing. Emma’s grandchildren brought her great joy and she loved spending time with them and attending their different events.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 9:30am until the start of the service. The Rev. Steven Weber will officiate. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
