I have known Gary since my younger years visiting Elmridge Baptist Church.  I was amazed by the gift that God had given him.
He came from a wonderful family and grew up to build his own.
May the Love of God bring you all peace and comfort.
May you all find joy in knowing that this is not goodbye and that he is now living his best life.

Mr. Nabors was a great man. I remember him back in high school where he was teaching special ed. He was a great teacher. The school lunch carnivals were really fun as well. Will miss seeing him! So very sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers.

Gary’s sister Carolyn was one of my best friends. We were in grade school through high school together. I remember when we were in grade school when Gary’s mother would bring Gary to our classroom when she would come to our class on special occasions. Gary was an entertainer at a very young age. His mother would bring Gary to our house when she visited. Gary would have the whole family laughing. My mother and stepfather were always telling me about how much they liked the many shows Gary performed in.  My condolences to Connie and all of Gary’s relatives.

Gary was many memories for Ed & me from being longtime friend, church member, our gal's youth leader, entertainer with his musical talent,  comedian of the party, prayer warrior & adopted "brother-in-law".   Already missing his phone calls of encouragement, his humerous stories & thoughts of how to solve world problems. Hugs & love to your precious family, Bro. Gary!

Dear Connie, Caylee, Mark and Casey. I am so sorry to hear about Gary. He was such a funny, friendly, happy neighbor for about 31 years. Skip and I were always glad that you lived next door. His talents were abundant including being a great music teacher for Derek. I play his Holiday piano CD every year many times a day.
The world and East Peoria have lost a truly wonderful man.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Gary was my Miyagi.  He was the reason I grew the confidence to begin singing publicly.  He was a father figure, a friend, a mentor all wrapped up into one package.   Gary helped me pick out my first sound system, my first guitar, helped me to figure out how to work the sound system.  We took a road trip to a music store, he helped me record my first CD.  He was the most amazing musician I've ever seen, and there was never a time where my jaw didn't drop at what he could do.  I cannot believe he is gone, we made so many memories together and he made so many people laugh, smile and forget about their cares.  The good thing is I know where Gary is and he wasn't shy about telling people about the Lord and was one of the most faithful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  He truly was one in a million and I know he is making music and making everyone laugh in Heaven.  Someday we will reunite and it will be perfect.  Connie, Caylee and Mark (Casey and kids) please know that our prayers will be with you during this time and if you need anything please do not hesitate to ask.  Love you all!

Gary was quite an inspiration to music and was nothing less than a pro at this, he led by example for other band members and just was such a wonderful guy!
