James V Dinkins Sr.

James was born August 26, 1922 in Bucoda, MO, to Millard and Lottie (Wall) Dinkins. On October 3, 1944 he married Callie M. Phillips in Rossville, GA. She passed away November 8, 2011 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Dalles Dinkins, Joe Dinkins, Shirrel Dinkins, one sister, Adell Broshears, and one great-grandson, Lucas Hendrickson.

Surviving are his four sons: James V. (Jamie) Dinkins, Jr, Phillip L. Dinkins, both of Peoria, Donald R. (Linda) Dinkins of East Peoria, and Tony A. (Kris) Dinkins of Washington, IL, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and, one brother Venson (Alberta) Dinkins of East Peoria.

James was a WWII Army Veteran. He operated Site gas station and owned Jim’s Conoco for many years in East Peoria and later worked for and retired from Jefferson Bank in Peoria.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with a one-hour visitation prior to the services. Rev. Eugene Hooker will officiate.

Interment will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
