Lura "Jean" Ahten Burch

Creve Coeur – Lura “Jean” Burch, 83, of Creve Coeur, IL passed away Saturday October 22, 2011 at O.S.F. St. Francis Hospital. Jean was born November 12, 1927 in Peoria, IL to John and Helen Davis Ahten. She married Don Burch on January 12, 1947.

Surviving is her daughter Sharon (John) Garls of Pekin, IL, three sons Ron (Marilynn) Burch of Monticello, GA, Gary Burch of West Peoria and Kevin (Andrea) Burch of Peoria, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and her sister Lucy Macuk of Mapleton, IL. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Alan Burch, brother John Ahten, daughter-in-law Jean Burch, and brother-in-law Tom Macuk.

Jean was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, embroidering, and sewing. She was also a member of the Creve Coeur Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday October 25, 2011 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
