Robert "Jim" Rainey

He was born March 25, 1929 in Peoria to Ellis and Hazel (Wagner) Rainey. He married Lulu M. Lane on Nov. 11, 1961. She preceded him in death in 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Richard E. Wise.

Surviving are his daughter, Lynnrae (Rick) Moon of Trivoli; two step-sons, Ronnie (Mona) Wise of Galway, Ireland, Rick (Valerie) Wise of Wisconsin; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and two sister-in-laws, Brenda (Wayne) Linginfelter and Anne (Warren) Putman.

Jim was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Japan as an MP receiving the WWII Victory Medal. He worked as a truck driver for PJ Hoerr before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Teamsters, American Legion in Bartonville, VFW in Creve Coeur, and was an avid fisherman.

Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Fr. Terry Cassidy officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes before services on Sunday at the funeral home.
