Roy Lee Griffith

Roy Lee Griffith, 66, of Morton, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1957 in Peoria, a son of Jack L. Griffith and Donna J. (Brooks) Griffith. Roy married Gail J. Hamann on June 14, 1983 in Mississippi. She survives.

He is also survived by his two sons, Jaysen L. (Chrissy) Hamann of Forrest City and James (Megan) Griffith of Glasford; one step-daughter, Tina (Cayan) Yurdusev of Naples, Florida; three grandchildren, Clayten, Ryland, and Bodhi; three brothers, Greg (Penny) Griffith of Glasford, Tom Griffith of Norris, and Jack (Trish) Griffith of Canton; one sister, Becky (George) Montgomery of Dunlap; and several nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons; and nephew, Gary Lee Montgomery.

Roy worked as an electrician for Keystone Steel and Wire/Liberty Steel for 34 years, retiring this past May.

He was a member of the Independent Steel Workers Alliance.

Roy's memorial service will be at 6:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. His memorial visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm also on Friday at the funeral home.
