Sharon Marie Gregg

She was born June 13, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois to Harry E. and Agnes (Dressendorfer) Burns. She married Anton “Tony” Gregg on July 26, 1952 in Springfield. He passed away September 13, 2007 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Jean Coady.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra (Todd) Schifeling of Morton; four sons: Gregory (Cynthia) Gregg of Springfield, James Gregg, Thomas Gregg and William Gregg all of East Peoria; one brother, Kevin Burns of West De Moines, IA; nine grandchildren: Tom, Madison (Cameron), Brent (Jaclyn), Taylor, Ryan, Alexis, Lauren, Anthony, Adam; two great-grandchildren: Hank and Lilly, and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was an Administration Assistant for the East Peoria Grade School District 86 for 20 years retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and the Women’s Guild, and the East Peoria Women’s Club.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria. Additional visitation will be one half hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Committal services will be at 12:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.

Memorials may be made to St. Monica’s Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
