Shirley E. Taghan Osborne

Shirley “Cowboy Hat Shirley” E. Osborne, 81, of East Peoria, Illinois passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Shirley was born on October 11, 1935 in Peoria to William and Elizabeth Marie (Yuhas) Taghan.

Surviving are her children: Diane Bown of Marshalltown, IA, Debra (Richard) Guppy of Peoria, IL, Dana Gutierrez of Marshalltown, IA, Bobbi Sue Osborne of Pensacola, FL, Robert Osborne of North Pekin, IL, and Ann (Steve Strothers) Osborne of Marquette Heights, IL; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers: Junior (Sandra) Taghan, Jim (Sharon) Taghan, Archie (Pat) Taghan, Eugene (Donna) Taghan, Mike Taghan; and sisters: Kay Taghan and Nancy Taghan. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her son David Lee Brandt, four brothers, and one sister.

Shirley worked as a cook in the East Peoria area for many years. She was a member of Springfield Road Baptist Church in East Peoria and Riverside Community Church in Peoria.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 6, 2017 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Duane Surels will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
